This is worth considering even if you have to pay full price for Old-rim. Enderal is absolutely free for Skyrim owners (that is the original Skyrim, not 2016's Special Edition) and to be frank, after dumping so much time into it over the last couple weeks I feel like I'm effectively robbing someone blind. What's new this time is that this is essentially a soft re-launch of the game on Steam, complete with official achievements, new questlines, new talent trees, and the sorts of tweaks and features you'd expect to see in the end-year definitive package for a big retail title. It originally came out back in 2016, and it won several "Mod of the Year" accolades back then already. Reworked and improved crafting, spells, and much more.Some of the nitty gritty to get out of the way first: Enderal in itself isn't a new release. Twelve new sidequests and two non-linear guild questlines: Work your way up the Golden Sickle, Enderal's merchants guild and infiltrate the ranks of the Rhalata, the enigmatic cult ruling the Undercity. Improved performance and stability for a smooth experience. Two "crafting classes" that utilize alchemy and enchanting for combat – use potions to shapeshift into a werewolf as the Lycantrope, use enchanting to craft spirit companions as the Phasmalist. A housing system allowing the player to design their own homes. An overhauled skill system with classes and new special abilities. Overhauled gameplay with classes, experience points, survival mechanics and challenging combat. Multi-faceted, believable characters with own ambitions and motivations. German and English voice acting by professional voice over artists. An unconventional story with believable characters and psychological undercurrents.
